At first, that looked like one of those games where the Yankees would score early, and then the bats would go cold. Meanwhile, the opposing team would slowly scrap their way back into the game, either tying it or coming within a run. The 5th inning struggle really made me think the Mets were on the verge of making it a game.
But CC came back with 2 strong innings, and the bats came alive again to widen the margin to 8 runs. Very good to see. I am still in awe of the night Gardner had. He might be past his adjustment phase and be ready to contribute every day. But, he'll have to continue to play well to prove that. I think the platoon, for now, should move from center to right. Gardner almost every day in center, play match up with Swisher and Melky in right.
