Poor Karl gets to predominantly be the guy who gets to monitor Sterling every day to keep an eye on this thread.

It is a burden I do not take lightly. But it must be done, for the benefit of future generations.

7/10/09: In perhaps the lamest FSHRC of his career, Sterling gives a feeble, half-hearted "It is high" before Hideki Matsui's bases-loaded fly settles into Bobby Abreu's glove.

7/17/09: Sterling FSHRCs on a fly by Damon that would have given the Yankees the lead. The next batter, Teixeira, homered, easing the pain a bit.

7/23/09 vs. Oakland: Posada drives one, and Sterling calls it, "it is high, it is far, it one hops off the wall."

How ironic. The last post in this thread was also vs. Oakland.

Top of the 3rd, 1st and 2nd with nobody out. Damon drives one.

"It is high, it is far, it's gonna be caught"

"I really thought that one was out."

8/17/09: Sterling FSHRCs on a fly by Damon that came up just ahead of the wall. "It is high/it is far/it is gonna be caught on the warning track by Sweeney."

There was another one a few days ago on a fly by Matsui, I believe.

When I saw your name as the last post, Karl (when I came back to this site), I wondered if it was in the FSHRC thread and sure enough it was.

8/28/09: Sterling FSHRCs on a shot by Cano. It was in the corner, so he was doubting himself for a while, then suddenly went into a rapid "It is high/it is far/it is...foul."

8/28/09: Sterling's second of the night, on a tenth inning fly by A-Rod that was epically high and far but into Rios's glove.

To be fair, this one fooled the entire Yankee bench, too.

"Driven to deep center, this could do it....and Rios catches it."

Kay did it, too, on A-Rod's hit. It would have been a homer if the wind wasn't blowing in tonight.

Kay in the first on Damon's long fly ball to right center...called it with his trademark "Seee ya", but it ended up hitting off the top of the wall for a double.

9/8/09: Sterling offers an abortive FSHRC on a foul fly by Jeter (he only got to the "It is high" part before cutting off). Unfortunate, though, since it would have moved him within 2 hits of Gehrig's Yankee record.

9/26/09: It is high/it is far/it is a foul ball on an 8th-inning blast by Swisher against the Red Sox. Thanks as always, Mr. Sterling.

10/9/09: A postseason FSHRC!!!

I was going through the archived radio broadcast to hear Sterling's calls of the dramatic moments of the game. He FSHRC'd on the 6th-inning fly by Teixeira that just went foul.
