Not too far behind you Jorge -- A-Rod, Nady, Burnett, Wang! ;-)

I have a question: in what way does it benefit the league to start 2 RP? Should that position on our rosters only consist of closers? What I'm saying is that I really have no idea how to score points with a set-up guy or middle guy. (I really have no idea how the whole points system works as a whole actually!).

Jorge dropped Bruney who may turn out to be a very valuable member of the Yankees but may not get many wins or saves, and thus, makes him fantasy irrelevant it seems. Yet we "start" just as many relievers as starters?

I know the categories for scoring but there is no info on how you score points within those categories and how many points for each statistic.

Just a couple things I noticed as a novice at this --> Image

Yes, your RP spots really should only be closers. Last season we had a category for "holds," so it was beneficial to have a set up man or two. This year, Andrew has limited the stat categories, and closers are really the only relievers with value.

It's a head to head league. You will have a record that reflects how many categories you won or lost for the week.

Example: Your team scores 36 runs, has 9 HR, 15 RBI, 3 SB, a .267 AVG, 3 W, 4 SV, 21 K, a 4.01 ERA, and a 1.23 WHIP for the week.

Your opponent's team scores 35 runs, has 10 HR, 16 RBI, 2 SB, a .275 AVG, 2 W, 3 SV, 15 K, a 4.67 ERA, and a 1.57 WHIP for the week.

You're record for the week would be 7-3.

Yeah, I thought we had way too many stat categories last year so I limited them to just the Yahoo defaults this year (standard 5x5). We'll see how it goes and who knows what changes we'll have next year.

Oh and I should add, you shouldn't limit your relievers just because there are only 2 RP positions on the roster. Many of the teams in the league have 3 or even 4 closers so you should try to get as many save opportunities as possible through drop/add, trades, etc.

I think "save guys" will emerge but right now the pickings are slim with relievers because if they don't close you're at a disadvantage in that category. Seems like you need to use two closers instead of any RP. But I guess any RP could help you in wins where a closer usually doesn't get as many wins.

My team has 3 RP, all of them closers.
1- Mariano Rivera
2- Joe Nathan
3- Joakim Soria

I expect a lot of saves from those three

You're right, Brian, but I prefer to have a starter rather than a RP to collect my wins. Although there are some teams that have RP on their rosters that are not closers, so it's on each one of us.

Anyway, be careful. Trevor Hoffman will start the season on the DL. You don't have to release him. You can keep Hoffman sending him to your DL, so you can have a free spot and add another pitcher.

Guys, sorry to not be able to play this year - business is good [we're understaffed by 22 people from what we quoted the contract, and we've increased our number of customers too]. Have a great season, though [I'll be at sea for several weeks, and in Portland later on :-)]

Oops, I did it again!

I logged on today after returning home from my weekend trip. I delayed looking at my fantasy baseball team, because I was sure that Jorge had kicked my potito; especially since he was dominating the pitching stats. I was shocked to see that I was in the semifinals! For the second year in a row, I faced off against Jorge in the quarters, tied with him (4-4 this year), and ended up moving on because I guess I hold the tie-breaker! Poor Jorge.

Lo siento, mi amigo. Que puedo hacer? ;)
