I agree about Sheets. As long as they don't go in expecting a ton out of him, he could have a huge upside.

Personally I'm willing to take a gamble on any of them, but Sheets is definitely at the top of the list.

Yankees.com has an article up today saying Andy rejected the team's first contract offer, but that everyone expects them to come to an agreement that will bring him back to the Bronx in 2010. I'm mildly surprised, but happy, of course. It'll be great to have him back, and this erases one of the thre...

I was procrastinating from paper-writing today and decided to go back and watch some highlights from Game 6. To my surprise, I found another FSHRC. Sterling committed one on Matsui's RBI double. Though in a World Series clinching game, I don't know that I can blame him. Approximately 4 months until ...

Mauer wins the AL MVP--as much as I might wish a Yankee got it, it's hard to argue that Mauer didn't deserve it. It's also a lot easier not to care about this sort of thing this year than it was back in 06 when Morneau edged out Jeter.

Well, we have to answer this question sooner or later. What do we do with Joba and Hughes? Who goes where? Does it depend on who they sign this off-season?

I definitely agree that all three should be back. This offense was baseball's best this year, and there's no real reason to mess with it. The free agent market doesn't thrill me, and they've got several options within the system should these guys get too old and beaten-up. Hideki's presence behind A...

That's a great list there. I was thinking earlier that if I had to nominate an MVP for this entire season, it would be A-Rod. Sure, he was hurt for a bit and didn't end up with as great of a year statistically because of that. But, to quote Reggie Jackson, he really was "the straw that stirred ...

Just got back from a little victory lap around the neighborhood. What a wonderful feeling...it's like I'm a little kid again. Heck, I was, last time the Yankees won a Series. Too bad the parade isn't this weekend, or I would've made an effort to get up to New York. Not sure I can miss class for it, ...

Hockey!

Should be an active offseason too. A lot of decisions to be made, most of which I've been ignoring since I was so focused on the present with this team.

4 Pennants, 2 Titles...in a decade of relative parity and general pain in the Bronx, the Yankees were still the best baseball had to offer.
