So the teams are now set... Big shocker and underdog Patriots are facing off the against the Giants.

OK, so maybe the Patriots getting into the Super Bowl isn't really a shocker after they finished the season undefeated.

The Giants had its struggles during the season, and for a time Eli Manning was being ripped apart.

Yet, now, the Giants are playing quite well, Eli has been the best QB in the playoffs, and lately the Patriots, while they are still winning, seem to be a lot less dominant than they were earlier.

I was listening to the radio earlier this morning while in my car. Just before getting out I heard the question being asked, "Is Brady hurt?" Being that I had to go, and it was just before a commercial, I didn't get to hear the rest of it. I will see if I can find any more on that speculation.

One thing to add to that thought, Brady had been listed as probable for starting for a good deal of time now due to shoulder issues. Not sure if it is still listed that way, being that I try not to pay all that much attention to the Patriots, but it just struck me as odd. He had been playing injured for a bit, which was reported as the reason why he was listed that way.

Of course the "is Brady hurt" stuff might just be some psy-op move by Belichick. I wouldn't put anything past him to try, and making it seem as if the star QB is hurt might change the psychological thinking of the Giants.

Anyway, might as well make up a new thread that deals with what could be an historic moment in football. The Patriots are coming into the championship game undefeated. They have set a lot of records through the season, and have dominated in a number of games. We had "spy-gate" (which I am really tired of any sort of scandle being call whatever-gate, its been decades now since Watergate, there has to be something else to call scandals.), complaints made about the Pats being up by a large margin and them keeping Brady in the game, running up the scores. There has been talk of some of the attitude of the whole team, and some players who are accused of playing "dirty", throwing punches - stepping on toes. Some of this of course is due to envy. With all the talk though, there has to be some truth.

Care to make a prediction about the game?

Right now I am on the fence, though I would love to see the Pats lose, I think this game could go either way.

Breaking: Is Tom Brady hurt?

AP
Mama NOOOOO!You know what happens when I make the mistake of putting on Good Morning America for some national news? I nearly cough up a Pop-Tart when they start showing video of Tom Brady limping around in a supposed walking boot.

Yet there he was, appearing on a TMZ.com video you can see here. Personally, I think there is something very, very wrong when I'm on TMZ for football news, but that's just the way things are for now.

You can bet that this will be the topic of the day, since there's already a link to a photo of Brady and his "cast" on the front page of ESPN.com.

Here's the latest:

The Boston Herald reported that Brady -- flowers in hand -- was visiting the apartment of his girlfriend, Gisele Bundchen.
During his weekly radio show on WEEI, Brady did not deny that he suffered some sort of injury during Sunday's win over the San Diego Chargers in the AFC Championship Game.

"Ah, you know, there's always bumps and bruises. I'll be ready for the Super Bowl," Brady said. "I'm not worried about that. I'm not missing this one. I'd have to be on a stretcher to miss this one. There will be treatment this week. In games like this, you get a little nicked up. It's nothing serious."

Patriots spokesman Stacey James wrote in an e-mail to the AP late Monday night that the team had no comment on the photos.

I have no explanation -- no words, really -- to explain what's going on. Obviously, an injury would help explain Brady's abysmal play Sunday. Now, the question is obvious: How serious is it, and will it be an issue two weeks from now?

So, there you have the story. Tough to say how much there is to it.

I watched the video, he is limping a bit, he didn't respond at all to the questions, but I don't put anything into that. Most celebrities don't respond to these guys because it always seem to lead to more.

The "cast" is interesting, though I would think if it were really serious he wouldn't have been out walking.

Brady isn't talking about it, though, he isn't denying, but he isn't confirming.

Brady has not played his best the last few games, could there be some troubles he has been playing with? If he is injured, whether he plays or not, it could impact the game.

Meh. I don't like either team. I still have bitter feelings towards the Giants due to the Roger Craig fumble that allowed them to kick the winning field goal against the Niners back in the 90s. But I dislike the Patriots more. Not only are they from the Boston area, but the disrespect they show towards opponents is a big turn off for me. It's not so much running up the score and all that, it's more the getting in the face of the other team's players and jawing at them after scoring yet another TD. Total lack of sportsmanship. The bad karma has been building up for them all year. Will it finally spill over in the Big Game? I sure hope so.

The more I saw of the Patriots the more I disliked them.

I enjoy watching football, but I never claimed one team for my own. Some comes from not being around on weekends as much, so I didn't ever follow one team for the season. I tend to root for certain players that capture my attention.

This season, I came to really dislike the whole attitude of the Patriots. Yes, its a good team that plays incredibly well, there are a lot of talented people on that team, but they are probably amoung the most disliked team or even hated teams. I blame Belichick mostly for all that. They are following his example, and frankly it shows.

Brady disappointed me with how he acts on the field. Granted there is a lot of jealousy toward him from a lot of players, but its all in how you handle things that makes you a great person or a lousy one. He chose the wrong type.

Right on Rob.

The Patriots and their fans and their head coach, Bill Belicheat, have an ingrained sense of entitlement. It didn't start out that way, but they've developed it over the years. Now it's in full-throttle.

I'm content because the Colts do everything the right way. Win with class, lose with class. We don't boast and we don't whine when we fall short. We don't prance around on other team's logos when we win playoff games. And Dungy, our head coach, always gives the opponent credit.

I will never forget last year, when we knocked them out, Belicheat acting as if he'd been the victim of a giant disgrace. That said it all. Downright arrogance.

Tony Dungy vs. The So-Called Genius? No contest in my book.

I saw another photo of him wearing cowboy boots today--they said it was after he was seen wearing the walking boot. How does he go from walking boot to pointy cowboy boots in the same day?

Friend emailed me this back in November. Great read.

It's good vs. evil.

Hard to say with Brady. It could be some psy-op type thing to make it seem as though Brady is hurt. I wouldn't put it past the Patriots to work anything they can for advantages.

Good article Tip, and even though its a little old, it hits the point well. I agree with the things it said re the Patriots, and I haven't seen where anything has changed.

That comes from the article Tip posted. I think it's pretty accurate. God really doesn't care who wins a football game. But He does care about players', coaches', and fans' conduct during those games.

This is true. Sports are entertainment, the conduct of the people, their comportment is more important than how well they can run the ball.
