It's been done exactly once. They are proud of it. Deservedly so.

That was an amazing team with a tremendous coach. The Patriots may be an amazing team, but their coach is a POS. I wouldn't want him associated with a record that is likely to stand for 40 or 50 years.

I understand them being proud of it, but records were made to be broken. And some of those men are behaving like arrogant POS's about it now. Sad.

Belichick does have a great football mind. He showed his ability all season long with how he made adjustments during the game. I can't take that away from him. I do not like what I have seen from him in his public appearances. His attitude on the field tonight after the game was wrong. I did see him go out there and congratulate Coughlin though, so it sort of takes some of the edge off. Heck everyone was on the field at that point, even though there was one second left.

I still think he should have stayed till the official end of the game.

His interviews this season had times when I got completely turned off. I also thought Brady was starting to act in a similar manner at times this year.

John, I fully understand defending him. I think his record is impressive and he has done a great job for that team. I think he turned a lot of people off of the Patriots this year, though, with the way he came across. Honestly when you look at the season, there is no denying that the Patriots had the better season. It will be talked of for a long time.

I don't know if any team will come up to that level of play again. Even the Patriots themselves will have a tough time repeating.

Impressive showing by the Giants. Hopefully Eli will not be the only media-maligned NY sports figure to walk away with a title in '08.

Hey, I like that idea.

Maybe the tide is now turning where NY can start seeing some more championships. Hopefully the good karma from this game doesn't help out the Mets, though. :D

This is pretty funny I have to wonder if they had one set up already for if the game went the other way... maybe with a moving van coming in?

No doubt. And don't forget what happened right before Eli threw that pass. Amazing he got away.

Eli getting out of that almost definite sack was jaw dropping.

The first quarter was a record setter as well. The first time that only 2 possessions occurred in the Super Bowl.

Did you notice also in the beginning when the Giants won the toss that Brady looked ticked off? Then they hold on to the ball for the majority of the quarter. I think that set up the game.

Ahh, another sunny day in Perfectville. John, sorry you and your boys can't join us.
All this stuff about the 72 Fins is overblown by the media. I've read countless interviews with these guys, and they can't believe all the attention they get. To a man they have all said that they would welcome another team to SHARE the record. I think they were a little tired of hearing about there so called easy schedule and the Pats being the best team ever. They won every game they played and, so far, nobody else has. As a Dolphin fan, I'm estatic about that.

Good point Chris. I think the Fins also don't get the credit for their season.

Seems that the number 18 isn't a good one for Boston or NE... 1918, 18-1.
