As some of you already know, my son "Young Jorge" is now in Madrid, Spain. He's studying at the "Universidad Antonio de Nebrija". He went to Spain by the end of January, and will be back to Mérida (at least I hope so) by middle July. Three of his best friends are sharing an apartment with him (Guille, Ariel and Tino), although the other three boys are going to another University in Madrid.

As you can imagine, he's having some hard times without his parents around. Take a look:

This is Tino (first) Ariel (middle) and Jorge (back) with 5 girls they met over there

And another one

Here with Ariel and 4 of the girls

Like Yankee Stadium is the Cathedral of baseball, Santiago Bernabeu is the Cathedral of Futbol. Real Madrid, one of the best european futbol teams play in that Stadium. Here you can see, from left to right, Tino, Jorge, Guille and Ariel

They's also visited Salamanca. Look at the beautiful Salamanca Cathedral. It's awesome.

Fun pictures, Jorge. It's good to see little Jorge's taking advantage of everything Spain has to offer. College is a wonderful thing.

I've been to Barcelona--amazing city. I'd love to go back there...so much to do, so little time.

Great pics, Jorge! He looks so homesick, though. NOT!

Suffice to say he certainly likes to be around plenty of women no matter where he goes. I'm sure he has no time to study.

Gorgeous churches and cathedrals! That first one almost looks like a sand castle. I'd get lost all day in one of those beauties. Ah, heaven on earth.

Thanks for your comments, OG, Karl and Char. Here are some more shots:

These following pictures are for all of you, but specially for Char. They are from a beautiful city, Segovia. Look at the buildings. They are awesome. Plain and simple.

The aqueduct

A view of the Azoguejo Plaza, with the aqueduct at left

The Arias Dávila Tower

Nuestra Señora de la Asunción Cathedral. Surely one of the most beautiful buildings in Sapin

Santa María del Parral Monastery

And, if it wasn't enough, these five more pictures from that same marvelous city, Segovia.

Enrique, Ariel and Jorge, with the San Millán Church behind them

La Puerta de San Andrés

Image

La Casa de Los Picos

This is like a fairy tale castle. El Alcázar. Beautiful

And the last one. One of the best pictures Young Jorge has taken during this trip. A view from the city. I've told him that, once he comes back to Mérida (he's supposed to return home), he has to make a poster and frame this wonderful shot. What do you think?

Wow, those pictures show antiquity at its best. Our friends went to Spain last year and didn't have nearly as many awesome photos to show as you have.

Yes, definitely you should frame that last one. It looks like a postcard--it's that perfect.

Thanks again for showing these because this is as close I'll get to being there, I'm sure.

Agree, bambina. It looks like a postcard.

Since Jorge is into Marketing and Publicity (he's now studying his 6th semester), he's become a great photographer. When Patricia and I looked that extraordinary picture, we were amazed. We congratulate him, because everyone who's seen it says the same: PERFECTION

By the way, just 4 hours ago, he called us. He was returning to Madrid from Rome, where he was this past days, since he had no classes because of Easter time. He visited the Vatican, and took some pictures to the Pope himself, because Jorge had the oportunity to witness a Mass from the Pope. He also went to Venezia, Florence and Pisa. As soon as I get the pictures, I'll show them to all of you.

Okay, now you're trying to make me jealous, but you're definitely talking my language. 8) Can't wait to see them.

And what Mass was Jorge at? I watched them from Holy Thursday to Easter Sunday on EWTN, so maybe I saw him.

Do you get EWTN (Eternal Word Television Network) in Mexico?
