Happy July; hopefully the Yankees can celebrate the 7th month of the year with a 7th win in a row. Pettitte is looking to rebound from an ugly game last time out in Atlanta, though that wasn't all his fault.

Pena was sent down to make room for Hinske. That's a bit disappointing, but it'll be good for him to get some regular playing time in the minors, and I'm sure we haven't seen the last of Ramiro in pinstripes this year.

I should point out that Cano is hitting 6th today. Yaay!

Of course he just got a hit, which will give Girardi an excuse to move him right back to the 5th spot. But I suppose we can hope that he'll stick with this.

On pace to set a record for DP's in one game. Hopefully it won't come to that, but they've had trouble scoring against Washburn in the past.

There's one way to get a run without having to worry about a double play.

Did you catch whether that was a home run or not with those huge eyes?

Yeah, I could tell by the motion the umpires made with their fingers.

Haha. Unfortunately, I bet you saw that home run pretty well too.

A-Rod's making a habit of this important-mid-to-late-inning-homer-hitting thing.

Yankees keep this up, and they'll hit more homers in this one game than then have been hit and Yankee Stadium in the last five.

It was right over the top of the foul pole. That was a shot!

I'm intrigued to see who comes out to pitch the top of the 8th. Hughes and Coke were up in the pen, Andy's pitch count is in pretty good shape, yet this is allegedly Bruney's role...

Regardless of who comes out, I'm feeling like it's 'Game Over.' I don't know, but 2 run lead with 2 innings to go? I'm confident the Yankees have won this game. It's a good feeling to have.

...and the answer ends up being "none of the above." It's Aceves.

If memory serves, Alfredo's last attempt in the setup role did not go over so well. Hopefully he improves on that.
