Number 27. Here we go. This is the lineup that will give us the victory:

1- Jeter, SS
2- Damon, LF
3- Tex-man, 1B
4- Alex, 3B
5- Matsui, DH
6- Jorge, C
7- Canó, 2B
8- Swisher, RF
9- Gardner, CF

And, as we all know, Andy Pettitte on the mound facing Pedro Martínez. Let's all start:

I am so NOT ready for this game!!

A good start for Andy, though. Helps to calm my nerves a bit.

Hello! After way too much searching I found a common room with cable and an internet connection.

Pedro has no velocity at all so far.

Hey, Karl. Good for you and us. :-)

Pedro didn't throw a single fastball there, so how do we tell about his velocity?

McCarver was trying to say that the 84-MPH thing was his fastball. But now that I think about it I probably shouldn't believe him. Either way, though, it's probably not a good sign regarding his fastball.

Yeah, I was just going by Gameday--didn't hear McCarver's comment, although I am watching, of course. I just keep Gameday open during all games.

The first two pitches to A-Rod looked like fastballs and were 84 and 83, respectively.

Got up to 86 on ball 4, and it looked overthrown.

The Yankees had better catch on and make the adjustment.

Gameday shows only the 4th pitch was a fastball--86 mph.

Matsui is a comforting sight--long foul ball or not, it's just great having him back full-time.

He's getting good rips.

Hopefully the curse of scoring first doesn't rear its ugly head tonight.

Unlucky bounce off the fence cost the Yankees a base there.
