Burnett starts against our old friend Tim Redding, who was once a Yankee. Though if you blinked, you might have missed that. He pitched 1+ innings in a start against Boston a few years back. He was so bad that he got replaced by Sidney Ponson.

Jeter and Damon both out of the lineup again tonight, but I won't complain about something that gives Gardy playing time.

Ah yes, Fred remembers. That was the year the Yankees used about 15 starting pitchers.

Hey Burnett and CC have major league swings! They're not easy outs.

Melky Man!!! I suppose if AJ's no-hitter lasts we may see some traffic on here?

I'm lurking. I guess when hitters aren't the story, there's less to comment on.

Fred, Coney and Leiter are talking about exactly what I've been saying about pitch selection and swinging at the best pitch and swinging at the first pitch more often lately.

I heard them talk about that, and thought of what you wrote. You almost wonder if they secretly ventured on to this forum.

Agree Rich, if you watch Jeter he doesn't dive for balls, he "slides" head first for them. He also makes plays that not many other guys do too.

Unless you include his "dive" into the stands of that epic 13 inning game against the Sox. I know that's different, but just wanted an excuse to bring it up.
